Linda Domurat Obituary


Linda McCormack Domurat, 70, of Canton, died peacefully in her home on Friday, May 30, 2014. She was born August 3, 1943 in New Britain, daughter of the late Joseph and Ida (Gaviola) McCormack and lived in Simsbury for many years prior to moving to Canton. Linda was an underwriter for Chubb Insurance prior to her retirement and was previously a personal banker for CBT and Webster Bank. She was a member of St. Mary's Church and the Simsbury Garden Club. She was a breast cancer survivor. Linda was an avid fan of UConn Women's Basketball, enjoyed gardening and crafts, and baking cookies, pies and her "famous" Christmas Cookies. She also loved spending time with her four granddaughters, traveling with her friends and brother and sister-in-law, and enjoyed connecting with friends, both old and new, via social media and online games. She is survived by her two daughters, Kari Lynn Domurat of West Hartford and Christine Maio and her husband Anthony of Seaford, NY; her son, Ronald Domurat, Jr. and his wife Lisa of Lake Wylie, SC; her four granddaughters, Kathryn Maio and Samantha, Teagan and Carsen Domurat; her brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Anne McCormack, of Maggie Valley, NC; and her former husband, Ronald Domurat of Edgartown, MA. Friends may call at the Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury on Tuesday, June 3rd from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral will be Wednesday, June 4th, 9:15 AM from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Church in Simsbury. Burial will follow in the Simsbury Cemetery.
