Dolores Bernice Dankel Obituary

Dolores Bernice Dankel, 85 of South Windsor, passed from this life peacefully on June 5, 2014. She was born to Alice and Stephen Kundla on December 27, 1928 in the borough of Manhattan, New York. After graduation she began working at Rockefeller Center where she met the love of her life, Raymond Patrick Dankel. They were married on September 16, 1950 in New York. Eventually settling in South Windsor, CT in the early 1960's, where they raised their two daughters. Dolores worked as a secretary for the State of Connecticut at both the Department of Revenue Services and Department of Developmental Services. She enjoyed ballroom dancing and enjoyed occasional visits to the happy atmosphere of the casino. Dolores was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Patrick Dankel in 1982 after 32 years of marriage. She is survived by her two daughters, Barbara Kingsbury and Patricia Potvin and her grandson, Staff Sergeant Abraham Raymond Kyc of the 82nd Airborne and her great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Joseph Kyc of North Carolina. Dolores's family would like to express their special appreciation for the care provided to her by Hartford Hospital and Hughes Rehabilitation Center in West Hartford. Calling hours for Dolores will be held from 9-11am on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor with a funeral service beginning at 11am.
