Maria B. Tierinni Obituary


Maria B. (Lehneis) Tierinni, 85, of Manchester and formerly of East Hartford, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Thursday, June 12, 2014 with her loving family by her side. Maria was the beloved wife for 42 years to the late Dominic J. Tierinni. Born in Oberammergau, Germany on October 10, 1928, the daughter of the late Michael and Beatrice Lehneis, she had resided in East Hartford for over 30 years prior to moving to Manchester 9 years ago. A devout catholic, she was a former communicant of Our Lady of Peace Church, East Hartford. Prior to her retirement, Maria was employed for 35 years by the Travelers Insurance Company in Hartford. She was a devoted and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who loved cooking and baking, especially for her grandchildren. Besides her beloved husband and parents, she was predeceased by a son-in-law, Domenico A. Arienzale of East Hartford, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and two brothers. Maria is survived by her five loving children, son, Domenic Tierinni and his fiancé Carol Schortman, of East Hartford, and his family, David Tierinni, Sharon and Rob Goulet, Trisha Tierinni, Jeffrey Tierinni, Dominic Tierinni, Nichole and Jeff Long, and 11 great-grandchildren, 2 great, great-grandchildren. Daughter, Gilda Arienzale of Unionville; daughter, Theresa Aniello and her husband, Peter of Farmington and their family, Gaetano Peter and Michelle Aniello, Anthony Aniello and great-granddaughter, Giana Aniello. Son, Michael Tierinni and his wife, Mary Jane, of Manchester with whom she made her home, and their family, Steven Tierinni and his fiancé, Lauren Carlson, Stephanie and Robert McKenna, great grandchildren, Caleb and Cole Tierinni, and a special great-granddaughter, Emma McKenna who loved her "Monday Play Dates" with her Big Mama. Son, Joseph Tierinni and his wife, Dana, of East Hartford and their family, Sgt. Joseph Tierinni with the U.S. Army and his wife, Kaitlynn Tierinni, Chris and Ashley Tierinni, great-grandchildren, Edward, Gabriel, and Aubrie Tierinni. Maria also leaves two brothers: Heinz Lehneis and Freidel Lehneis both of Germany; two sisters-in-law, Rose Plenzio and Maria "Jenny" Beaudoin both of East Hartford; several nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Maria's family would like to give a special thank you to Sheila who cared for Maria on a daily basis Funeral Services will be Monday (June 16th) at 9:30 am from the D'ESOPO-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Peace Church, Brandon Road/May Road, East Hartford. Burial will follow at Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery, (Section T), Bloomfield. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Sunday (June 15th) from 5-8 pm.
