Alfio Tringali Obituary

Alfio "Alfredo" Tringali, 71, of West Hartford, beloved husband of Salvatrice "Dora" (Bazzano) Tringali, left this earth peacefully from home on Friday June 13, 2014 with his loving family by his side after his battle with lung cancer. Born in Lentini, Province of Siracusa, Sicily, Italy, son of the late Filadelfo and Filadelfa (Conti) Tringali, he has lived in West Harford for the past 32 years. Alfredo was employed as a painter for the State of Connecticut prior to his retirement. He was a member of Italian American Stars, E.P.C.I. (Ente per la Promozione della Cultura Italiana) and also a member of Devoti Spingitori di Sant' Alfio in Lentini. Alfredo was a perfectionist and very meticulous, he was an artist that took great pride in his work. He loved his garden, his orange plants and lemon trees. He was an avid Juventus soccer fan and loved watching soccer games. His greatest pleasure was traveling and cruising with his wife and spending time with his grandchildren. He taught himself to read and write English. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. Besides Dora, his devoted wife of 43 years, Alfredo leaves three children, Helga R. Finlay and her husband Thomas of Windsor, Delfo A. Tringali and his wife Lindsay of West Hartford and Rachel D. Tringali of West Hartford; a sister Francesca Tringali of Italy; five grandchildren, Shelby, Morgan and James Finlay and Ava and Alina Tringali, his "grand dog" Kaylan; a sister-in-law Connie Keylin of Wethersfield, a nephew Daniel Keylin of Wethersfield; two nieces Maria Carmela and Rita, both of Italy and many cousins and friends. Funeral services will be Tuesday (June17) beginning at 9:00 am from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield, CT 06109 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Thomas the Apostle, 872 Farmington Avenue, West Hartford, CT 06119. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 8 pm at the funeral chapel in Wethersfield.
