Lowell H. Mickelson Obituary


Lowell H. Mickelson, 66 years old, of Avon, passed away suddenly on Friday, June 13, 2014. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and son who leaves behind his wife Linda, daughter Dr. Jayme Mickelson of Plymouth Minnesota, his son Eric Mickelson of Fort Collins, Colorado and his devoted dog Spencer. Lowell was born in Brooklyn, New York to Arthur and Harriett Mickelson. He was raised with his brother Jeffrey in East Meadow, Long Island. He spent many years in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where he met his wife and became the father of their twins. Lowell has been an Avon resident for almost 28 years. He loved sports, and coached little league baseball. Lowell enjoyed sports trivia and competitive banter with his friends about his love of the New York Jets, Knicks and Mets. He was an avid movie buff and enjoyed playing poker and black jack with his friends. When not involved with sports, he could be found travelling the world with his family or by the ocean. Lowell devoted his business life to wealth management as a successful registered investment advisor. His career at Howard Financial spanned 28 years where he received many accolades for his sound financial advice. Lowell is survived by his wife, children, parents, brother Jeffrey Mickelson and his wife Linda of East Lyme; nephews Brian and Sean Mickelson; and his niece Emily Mickelson. Lowell was aloving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend and will be dearly missed by all who knew him for his humor, unerring devotion, wittiness, and passion. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Monday, June 16, 2014 at the Carmon Funeral Home and Family Center of Avon, 301 Country Club Rd Avon. His family will receive friends prior to the service on Monday from 9 AM to 11 AM. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
