Salvatore Argento Obituary

Salvatore "Totuccio" Argento, 73, a longtime resident of Hartford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Palermo, Italy on October 8, 1940, Salvatore was the son of the late Giuseppe and Maria (Merendino) Argento. Salvatore served in the United States Army and was retired from the U.S. Post Office. He had a love of soccer, greyhound dogs, fast horses and good Italian food. Salvatore enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his brother, Carmelo Argento and his wife Lina; his sister, Santina Glasson and his nieces and nephews, Maria and Sebastian Giarratana and their children Sofia and Joseph; Felicia and Tom Raffa and her son Tony; Michael Glasson; and Sharon and Kurt O'Neil. He is also survived by his Madrina, Felicia Spataro and several cousins. Besides his parents, Salvatore was predeceased by his sister, Salvatrice Argento and his brother-in-law, Paul Glasson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday (July 5) at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect St., Wethersfield. Burial with military honors will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday prior to the Mass, from 9-10:30 a.m., at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield.
