Julie Jean Bazzano Obituary


Julie Jean (Strano) Bazzano, 93, of Bloomfield, beloved wife of Louis Michael Bazzano for 32 years, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Vibra Hospital in Springfield, MA. Born in Hartford on May 27, 1921, daughter of the late Frank and Angelina (Crocitti) Strano, she was raised in Hartford, was a graduate of Weaver High School, Class of 1942, and had lived in Bloomfield and been a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church since 1958. In the mid 1940's, Julie started her career as a secretary with The Hartford Fire Insurance Company. In 1971, she worked at Cigna in Bloomfield as a proofreader until her retirement in 1984. All her life she was a patron of the arts and a gifted landscape painter, singer and actress who loved to perform in plays and dance with her beloved husband Louie. She enjoyed extensive travels with her family and friends. In 1970, Julie took a road trip out to California with her husband and daughter driving their 1968 Bonneville Convertible cross country. Her first plane trip was with her daughter visiting Florence, Rome and Venice, Italy in 1987. She was free-spirited, with a strong sense of self and morals, and would always put a smile on your face with her sweet charm. She would often say, "Don't take life too seriously. Life is too short!" She leaves a daughter, Cynthia Ann Bazzano and her partner Julian Braville of Bloomfield; two sisters, Florence Strano of Newington and Ann Casasanta of Debary, FL; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by five sisters, Jean Failla, Frances Gilberto, Connie Kane, Helen Strano, and Mary Silvester; and four brothers, Thomas, Ronald, Salvatore, and Sebastian Strano. Her family invites you to celebrate Julie's life on Wednesday, July 9th, 5-8 p.m., and on Thursday, July 10th, at 9:15 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 26 Wintonbury Ave., Bloomfield, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Memorial donations may be made to a .
