Edwin J. Koncewicz Obituary


Edwin Jacob Koncewicz, 84, of Bancroft, Maine, passed away on June 13, 2014 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Bangor, Maine. Born in New Britain, CT on July 25, 1929, he was the son of the late Leon and Marja (Zynda) Koncewicz. He was employed at Landers, Frary and Clark and Emhart/Black and Decker for many years. He was in the U.S. Navy from 1946 to 1950. He leaves his sister, Mrs. Hedy K. Madrak, three nephews: Andrew W. Madrak, III, Derek S. Madrak and his wife Liliana and their children Ashly, Autumn and Amber, Stephen Kenna and his two children, Audrey and Mitchell; nieces: Diane Jones and her husband Brad and their daughter, Haley, Darlene Butkiewicz and her husband Skip and their three children, Patrick, Connor and Shalyn, , Kathy Heitmann and her husband Scott and their two children, Kennady and Taylor, Alison Pompei and her husband Jim and their two children, Tino and Sarina. He also leaves four step-children: Carolyn, Arthur, Nora and Norma; a brother-in-law, Frank Aparo and many cousins and friends in Maine, Canada and Connecticut. He was pre-deceased by his wife, Jewell Koncewicz; sisters: Barbara Koncewicz, Florence K. Aparo, Henrietta K. Kenna and her husband, Leo and Andrew W. Madrak, Jr. Services were held in Bancroft, Maine. Memorial donations in Ed's name may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675 or to Holy Cross Church, 31 Biruta St, New Britain, CT 06053. Burritt Hill Funeral Home, 332 Burritt St., New Britain, CT 06053 is assisting the local family.
