Arpad Vincze Obituary

Arpad Vincze, 92, of Bloomfield, beloved husband for 61 years of Magdalena (Brenner) Vincze, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at his home. Born in Jara, Romania on February 23, 1922, son of the late Johan and Rosalia (Palfi) Vincze, he was raised in Romania by parents of Hungarian descent and he fought with the Hungarian Army during World War II. After the war, Arpad immigrated to the United States and settled in Hartford where he lived for 10 years before moving to Bloomfield in 1961. Arpad worked in the West Hartford Public Schools for many years and retired in 1985 after 22 years of service. He was a longtime parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Bloomfield. Most of all, Arpad will remembered as a family man who enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, spending time with his family and drinking a hot cup of coffee. Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Stephen J. Vincze and his wife Patricia of Canton and Victor A. Vincze and his wife Laura of Manchester; a granddaughter whom he cherished and affectionately referred to as "Dr. Sweetie", Dr. Nicole J. Vincze. He was predeceased by three brothers, George, Frank, and Joseph Vincze. His family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 29, 9-10 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., at Sacred Heart Church, 26 Wintonbury Ave., Bloomfield. Burial will follow in Mt.
