He was born in Waterville, ME on October 2, 1938, son of the late Romeo A. Veilleux and Mary Jane (Gendreau) Veilleux. Ed excelled in his scholarly pursuits; he graduated from HPHS in 1956, attained his BS from UConn, MBA from UHart, and earned both a CLU and FLMI. His career spanned decades at several local life insurance companies in executive positions. His sense of joy and contentment, however, was raising and nurturing his family. Besides his wife, he is survived by his sons, John Veilleux of Newington, Tom Veilleux and his wife Deidra Beisel of West Hartford; his daughters Amanda Halpin and her husband Shawn of Rocky Hill, and Carolyn Crowley and her husband Mike of MA; his brothers Robert Veilleux and his wife Candace of Wethersfield, Jim Veilleux of CA, Jon Veilleux and his wife Joan of South Windsor. Ed is also survived by his adored grandchildren, Maya Veilleux, Alice Crowley, Michael Crowley, and the expected Halpin twin boys. Always the gentleman, he was blessed with many wonderful friends, who enjoyed his companionship and sense of humor. Funeral services will begin at 9:00 AM on Wednesday (July 30) from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 56 Hartford Avenue, Wethersfield. The burial will follow at the Village Cemetery, Wethersfield. Family and Friends may visit the funeral chapel on Tuesday (July 29) from 4-8 PM. Memorial donations may be sent to Sacred Heart Church, 56 Hartford Avenue, Wethersfield, CT 06109 or Wethersfield Rocky Hill Professional Nurses Assn.
