Judith Anne McNaughton Obituary

Judith Anne (Mohan) McNaughton of Thousand Island Park, NY and East Granby, CT beloved wife of John F. McNaughton, Jr. passed away July 30, 2014 after a short illness at home surrounded by her loving family. Judy was born in Pittsburgh, PA., December 29, 1946, the daughter of the late Attorney James Tyssen Mohan and Vera (Gardner) Mohan. She grew up in and attended grammar schools in Thornburgh, PA. In 1964, she graduated from Bishop Canevin HS and attended St. Francis Univ. in Loretto, PA. In 1966, she married and went on to work at Pennsylvania State University. In 1969, Judy moved east and began her family in East Hartford, CT. She was active in Jaycee wives, EH- YMCA and a member of the YWCA board of greater Hartford. In the late seventies, Judy began work at John A. Bailey Assoc. Inc. where she ended her working career as Corporate Sec/Treasurer. Until her death, Judy was the lead member of Prominent Concepts LLC and was a parishioner of St. Therese in Granby, CT. Judy enjoyed being a golf widow as she was an avid reader of mysteries. Through the years, she collected many many books and enjoyed reading them over and over - she loved her books! Her favorite place to read was her dock at Thousand Island Park on the St. Lawrence River, but during the colder month she would settle for Anatole Beach, Kona HI. She past from this world with Emma Lathen's "Pick Up Sticks" in her hands. Over the years, numerous K9 partners graced her home. At present, she leaves her new baby Birdie and her good old Moosie. On the human side, Judy leaves behind her best friend, partner, and beloved husband of 48 years, John F. McNaughton Jr. Judy also leaves behind her beloved children Jillian K. McNaughton, Jennifer E. McNaughton and John F. McNaughton, III and his wife along with two grandchildren Ruby Rose & McKenna May McNaughton all of The Granby's; a brother, Dr. William John Mohan of Akron, NY and nephews Joey and Nickolay Mohan. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at 10:00 am at St Therese, 120 West Granby Road, Granby CT 06035. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be in Upstate New York at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Judy's' memory to the Protectors of Animals, 144 Main Street, Unit O, East Hartford, CT 06118.
