Valerie Dumais Obituary


Valerie Dumais, 84, of Vernon, CT, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Middlesex Hospital, Middletown, CT. Born September 1, 1929 in St. Francis, ME, she was the daughter to the late Albert and Omerille (Jandreau) Ouellette. She was an assembler for Jacobs Mfg. until her retirement in 1986. She was a faithful member of St. Luke Church in Ellington, an avid bowler, a Red Cross and Rockville Hospital volunteer, and a dedicated fan of Uconn Women's basketball. Valerie is survived by her two children: Sharon Beaudry and Peg Keduk; daughter-in-law Lise Pelletier; her brother, Leodore Ouellette; five grandchildren, Crystal Keduk, Jenny Bosse-Tackett, Richard Bosse, Nicole Pelletier and Natalie Sic; and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Camille Dumais; brother Lewellyn Ouellette; and son Peter Pelletier. Calling hours will be from 5-7pm on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Rd., Vernon CT. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 7th beginning at 9am from the funeral home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial, to be celebrated at 10am, from St. Luke Church, 141 Maple St., Ellington with interment following in Ellington Center Cemetery.
