Dorothy M. Fagan Obituary

Dorothy M. 'Dottie' Fagan, 85, of Broad Brook, beloved wife of William L. Fagan passed away on Tuesday August 6, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital. Dottie was born in Nashua, NH the daughter of Guy R. and Georgina (Young) Fluke. She and her husband lived in several states due to his employment. Dottie was Director of Volunteers, Bay State Medical Center, Springfield, MA for several years. Moving to Houston, TX she was Personnel Director at Medical Arts Hospital. She also was appointed to the position of corporate officer at the Alexandria National Bank, Alexandria, VA. A final career move was made to Los Angeles, CA where she was appointed Personnel and Salary Administrator for Coast Federal Savings Bank. Illness forced her retirement in 1981. Dottie and her husband returned to CT in 2000 where they could be with family and friends. Her hobbies included skeet shooting, golf, oil painting, sewing and her Yorkshire Terrier, Annie. Dottie attended schools in Nashua, NH American Institute of Banking, New York school of Interior Design, University of Massachusetts and Orange Coast College in Cost Mesa, CA. In addition to her devoted husband Bill, Dottie is survived by her daughter and son-in-laws, Jill and Kenneth Stone Sr. of Nashua, NH; her grandchildren, Bonnie Brewer of Milford, NH, John and Kenneth Stone of Nashua, NH; step-children, William R. Fagan of Springfield, MA, Deborah Civello of Stafford Springs, Jennifer Hughes of Madison and Jeffrey Fagan of Willington; her sister, Nancy Tassie and husband Donald of Epping, NH; two brothers, Robert Fluke and wife Charlene of Norman OK and Wayne Fluke of North Palm Beach, FL and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dottie was predeceased by her sisters, Alma Bradley, Beatrice Owens, Ina Cummings and Doris LeClerc; her brothers Richard and Rodney Fluke and her former husband, Sidney J. Marcuson. A funeral service will begin on Saturday August 9th at 9:00 a.m. from the Bassinger & Dowd Funeral Home, 37 Gardner St., East Windsor followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Catherine Church, Broad Brook. Burial will follow in St. Catherine Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Friday evening August 8th from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
