Loren H. Otter Obituary
Loren H. Otter, 75, of Bolton, the husband of Elaine (Vesco) Otter died Sunday, August 10, 2014. Born in Huron Township, MI he was the son of the late John H. and Alice (Miller) Otter. He was a 1956 graduate of Belleville High School in Michigan, received his B.S. in Aeronautical Engineering from University of Michigan in 1961 and his M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Renssalaer Polytechnical Institute in 1966. Loren began his working career at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft and later retired from UTC International Fuel Cells after many years of service. He was a charter member of the Bolton Lions Club, having served as their secretary and president. Active at the state and international levels he served as District Governor in 2004-2005 for The International Association of Lions Clubs District 23C Connecticut. He was also a member and past chairman of the Bolton Planning and Zoning Commission for many years, and was a member of the Bolton Republican Town Committee. Besides his wife he is survived by his sister Arla Stader of Tucson, AZ, sister-in-law Jean Fenn and her husband Raymond of Ashford, CT; and nieces and nephews, Susan A. Fenn, Laurie F. Welply, Stephen A. Fenn, Tracey F. Hunter, Eric J. Fenn, Cheryl L. Smith, Daniel A. Otter, Tina M. Stiller, Rodney D. Otter, Linda M. Vasser, Richard D. Otter, John F. Otter and Aleta M. Yeager. He was predeceased by his brothers, Donald J. Otter, Byron K. Otter, Duane K. Otter, and his brother-in-law Orin Stader. Funeral service will be held on Thursday (August 14th) at 10:00 a.m. at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester followed by burial in St. Augustine Cemetery, Glastonbury.
