Obituary Condolences

JAMES, Lindsay C. Lindsay C. James, 48, beloved husband of Patricia James, passed away on Saturday (June 14, 2008), at Hartford Hospital. He was born in Hartford but grew up in East Hartford. He was involved in sports all of his life and was an avid sports fan. He was very athletic and loved coaching youth sports. He worked for a non-profit agency that provided educational, mentoring, and counseling to local youth. He was very active in the community and worked with many agencies that provided services to the youth and young adults. He was a foster care parent for many years and opened his home and heart to dozens of abused and neglected children. Lindsay was a devoted husband, son, father, brother and friend to all who knew him. He will be remembered for his compassion and generosity to his fellow man. Along with his wife, Lindsay is survived by his son, Kyle L. James, his mother, Johnnye M. James, his six brothers and two sisters, Lawrence C. James, II, Lance C. James, Leighton C. James, Leroy C. James, Leonard C. James, Lawrence C. James, III, Lorraine C. James, and Laura James, his aunt and godmother, Denise B. Swilley, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends and family may call on Sunday, June 22, from 4-7 p.m. at the Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave, East Hartford, with a funeral service to begin at 7 p.m. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
