Richard A. DUBEY Obituary
DUBEY, Richard A. Richard A. Dubey, 60, of 97 Beecher St. died Wednesday, (November 11, 2009). He was the beloved husband of Donna (Pasquale) Dubey. Born on Dec. 10, 1948 in Caribou, ME, the son of Madeline (Corbin) Dubey of Bristol and the late Albert Dubey Sr. Richard served in the US Army during the Vietnam War, he was a Staff Sergeant, Crew Chief and door gunner, and had received the Army Commendation, Purple Heart, Air Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with 2 Bronze Stars, Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Presidential Unit Citation and Sharpshooter Badge. Prior to his retirement in 2002 he was head mechanic for the City of Bristol, he also worked for Kapura's General Contractors and DellaVecchia Funeral Home. Richard was a Gun Collector and shooter. In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by two sons, Richard A. Dubey Jr. of Torrington, Joseph and wife Shannon Dubey and his daughter Deana Dubey, his grandson Gabriel Dubey who was his best buddy, all of Southington, a brother Albert and wife Lynn Dubey of Bristol, a sister Jacqueline and husband Mike Reid of Texas, a brother-in-law Peter and wife Linda Pasquale, nieces Sherri, Jennifer and Jamie and nephew Jason, many friends and also his dogs Abbie and Alexie. He was predeceased by a brother Steven Dubey and a sister Debra Johns. The Funeral will be held on Saturday at 9:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. to St. Thomas Church at 10 a.m. Burial with military honors will be at St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be TODAY (Friday) from 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations maybe made in his memory to the Gabriel Dubey Scholarship Fund, C/O Rosemary DeFeo, TD Bank, 121 Main St. Southington, CT 06489.
