WROBEL, SR., Edward Michael Edward Michael Wrobel, Sr., 87, of Hoskins Rd., Simsbury, husband of the late Dolores (Kolodziej) Wrobel died Sunday (February 14, 2010) at Meadowbrook of Granby. He was born January 8, 1923 in Kensington, son of the late Walter and Mary (Ziemba) Wrobel, and had lived in Farmington and Florida prior to moving to Simsbury seven years ago. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U. S. Army in the South Pacific Theater. Mr. Wrobel was a self employed carpenter and small business owner for most of his life prior to his retirement in 1992. A professional trumpet player, he played with a variety of big bands and small groups from the 1930's through to his retirement. He was a long time member of the Hartford Musicians Union Local 400. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Edward M. Wrobel, Jr. and his wife Carol of Simsbury; his daughter, Cheryl Caneschi of Simsbury; his granddaughter, Jennifer Wrobel; his grandson, Bryan Caneschi; his brothers, Joseph Wrobel and Leo Wrobel; and several nieces and nephews. There are no calling hours. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, February 19, 10:30 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 265 Stratton Brook Road, West Simsbury. Burial with military honors will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the , P.O.
