Gary M. JASKULSKI Obituary
JASKULSKI, Gary M. Gary M. "Mr. J." Jaskulski, age 50, of Sylvania, OH, died on Wednesday, (February 17, 2010) at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 12, 1959, in Hartford, CT. Gary was a 1978 graduate of East Granby High School in East Granby, CT. A National Honor Society member, he graduated early and attended the Hartt School of Music at the University Of Hartford, CT, where he received Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Liturgical Music. Gary showed exceptional talent in music from an early age. He began playing in churches at age 12 after only one organ lesson, and church music became his passion. His places of employment included Trinity Episcopal Church in Tariffville, CT; All Saints' Episcopal Church in Winter Park, FL; St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Mobile, AL; Truro Episcopal Church in Fairfax, VA; St. George's School in Middletown, RI where he was Head of Music and Chapel Organist; Graystone Presbyterian Church in Indiana, PA; and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sylvania, OH, where he served as Director of Music from 2006 to the present. While living in Florida, he was also Adjunct Professor of Organ at the University of Central Florida. Gary met his devoted wife and fellow musician, Merrilee (Miner) Jaskulski in 1977 while serving at Trinity Church. They married on July 22, 1983 and went on to serve together in music ministry. She survives along with their children, Catherine and Christian Jaskulski; and Gary's parents, Theodore and Barbara (Petraitis) Jaskulski of Oviedo, FL. Visitation will be Thursday, February 25, from 2-8 p.m., in the Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114-128 E. Alexis Rd., with a Scripture Service at 7 p.m. Visitation will also take place on Friday, from 9-10 a.m., in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Sylvania, followed by the Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Interment will take place on Monday, March 1, in Granby Cemetery, Granby, CT. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to their many friends at St. Joseph Church, the staff, and members of the music ministry for their love and support, as well as the caring staff of Hospice of Northwest OH.
