Although we lost touch with each other after high school, Sandy and I were best friends for several years. We often wore the same dresses, sandals, jackets, even the same line of very pale lipstick. We walked to school together, made Appian Way Pizza together, confided our current love interest, and shared our future dreams. Sandy had a generous heart manifested through that dazzling smile of hers, those gorgeous dimples. For me, she is synonymous with many of my adolescent years. As Scott put it, she was, at least in our hearts, stopped in time, forever young. Those who loved her, accept my grief and know she brought joy to many people.

Two pictures of Sandy and what's most significant, the smile. Sandy was all smile, all dimples. When Sandy came into your vision more than the face wide smile and dimples, she glowed. My association with Sandy was limited to 6th grade, junior high and high school, however, here impact on me has lasted a lifetime. We will miss the our classmate and friend.
