HURLEY, Walter J. "Doc", Jr. Walter J. "Doc" Hurley, Jr., 54, died peacefully on Friday morning (July 1, 2005) at St. Francis Hospital. Born November 2, 1950 in Norfolk, VA. He is the son of Walter "Doc" Hurley, Sr. of Hartford and the late Gwendolyn Bannister Hurley. Doc, Jr., attended Kingswood-Oxford School, West Hartford and the University of Pennsylvania where he excelled in basketball. He was the Marketing manager for the Eastern region at The Hartford Insurance Group. He later worked for the Department of Revenue Service for the State of Connecticut. Doc Jr., had a love for music, sports and bike riding. He was a trustee board member of the Doc Hurley Scholarship Foundation, Inc., for many years where he always gave his time and talent to the organization and many young college bound students. In addition to his father, he is survived by his daughter Stacy Hurley-Cloud and her husband Chris of Hartford; a son Michael J. Hurley of Hartford; a sister Jeanne Costley and her husband Alexander of West Hartford; a sister Muriel Hurley-Carter and her husband David of Bloomfield; a granddaughter Nailah Hurley currently in CA; and cousins and many friends. A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 11 at 6 p.m. at Faith Congregational Church, 2030 Main Street, Hartford.
