TYNAN, Jeremiah J. Jeremiah J. Tynan, 86, of Rook Road, Cromwell, beloved husband of Evelyn (Heckart) Tynan, died Friday, (November 12, 2010) at Middlesex Health Care Center. Jeremiah was born, in Middletown, the son of the late Jeremiah Patrick and Anna (Carey) Tynan. He served with the U.S. Army in both World War II and the Korean War. Jeremiah retired from the U.S. Post Office after 43 years of service, where he served as president of the local letter carriers for a period of 18 years. He was a member of the American Legion, Knights of Columbus and the Ancient Order of the Hibernians. He was a longtime communicant of St. John Church. Besides his wife he is survived by his daughter; Julie Tynan of Wisconsin, three sons; Jeremiah Tynan and his wife Susan of Nebraska, James Tynan and his wife Susan of Bristol, Joseph Tynan of Kansas, a brother; John F. Tynan and his wife Josephine of Middletown and several grandchildren. A Funeral Liturgy will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in St. John Church, Middletown. Burial, with military honors, will be at St. John Cemetery. Friends may call at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown, on Monday prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:30.
