AUBE, Linda G.

Linda Gentile Aube of Waters Ave., Rocky Hill, passed away Monday (July 18, 2011) with family beside her, from cancer. Born March 1, 1943 in Hartford, daughter of the late Harry and Teresa (Panaro) Gentile. She was the beloved wife of Robert W. Aube and they were married on April 25, 1964. Linda was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. The Gentile Family moved to Gilbert Ave. in Rocky Hill in the early 50's from Hartford. Linda graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in 1961 and went to the College of Our Lady of the Elms in Chicopee, MA. Before she finished college she got married and raised a family. While raising her kids, she finished her degree in education at CCSU. Linda went to teach elementary school at St. Joseph's Cathedral in Hartford for 12 years. She went on to get her Masters Degree in Counseling and began teaching in the Hartford Public School System at Bellizi Middle School. After 20 years in public school, she retired in 2009. Linda touched many lives and made a positive impact on children in Hartford for 32 years. She loved to be active, bowling, tennis, golf, skiing and entertaining guests with her great culinary skills. She was a Yankee fan in a Red Sox house, she got along with everyone. Linda was a member of St. James Parish and kept the faith for the family. The Aube Family would like to express or gratitude to the nurses, aids and caregivers at St. Francis Hospital and those with Masonic Hospice Care, for helping Linda gracefully move onto "The Next Place" with dignity. Linda is survived by her husband, Robert W. Aube; son, Robert W. Aube Jr., O.D., daughter, Brenda Aube Ryan; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth W. Aube, son-in-law, Douglas Ryan; grandchildren, Jack Aube, TJ Ryan, Brendan Aube, Luke Ryan, Lily Aube, Connor Ryan, Will Aube, and Kelly Ryan; brother, Henry Gentile; sister-in-law, Shelley Gentile and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be from the Rose Hill Funeral Home, 580 Elm Street, Rocky Hill on Saturday (July 23, 2011) 8:45 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. James Church, Rocky Hill. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park. Calling hours will be Friday 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Masonic Charity Foundation of Connecticut in Linda's name. www.masonicare.org
