Paul J. MODERACKI Obituary


Paul J. Moderacki, 72, of Bristol, husband of Margaret "Peg" (Reidy) Moderacki, died on Saturday (October 1, 2011) at Bristol Hospital. Paul was born in Bristol on January 9, 1939, and was a son of the late John B. and Margaret (Mandl) Moderacki. A lifelong Bristol resident, he attended Bristol schools and graduated from Bristol High School in 1957. He served in the United States Air Force for four years before joining the Bristol Fire Department. The department was his second family for 30 years before he retired in 1999 as driver of Engine 1. In addition to his wife of 48 years, Paul is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Tracey Moderacki and Brian and Brenda Moderacki, all of Bristol; a sister, Patricia Annelli of Southington; five granddaughters, Shannon, Rachel, twins Ashlie and Karlie, and Erin; two brothers-in-law, and a sister-in-law, Joseph C. Reidy of Southington, and Dixie and Douglas Beaulieu of Ellington; two aunts and an uncle in FL, including Helen Stenner; several nieces, nephews, and cousins, and numerous extended family and friends. He was predeceased by a brother-in-law, John Annelli.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday October 5, 2011 at 9 a.m. from Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, to St. John's Episcopal Church, 851 Stafford Ave., Bristol, for a funeral service at 10 a.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
