DeSIMONE, Joseph M.

Joseph M. DeSimone, 90, of Walpole. NH formerly of Manchester, beloved husband of Lois "Burnice" (Allen) DeSimone passed away Thursday, (October 27, 2011) in New Hampshire. Joseph was born on January 16, 1921 in Manchester son of the late Luigi and Angelina DeSimone. He was raised in Manchester, attended local schools and was a local football star at Manchester High School. Joe was a veteran of the US Army Air Corps serving his country at Hickham Air Force Base at Pearl Harbor where he stationed at the time of the attack Dec. 7, 1941. Prior to his retirement in 1981 he was employed for Southern Bell in Florida for over 30 years. Joe was a life member of the 40/8 Club with the American Legion Post in Walpole, NH. In addition to his wife Burnice, he is survived by his sister Gloria Gardner of Manchester, his sister-in-law Beverly DeSimone of Manchester and numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Besides his parents Joe was predeceased by his three sisters, Ann Burke, Elizabeth Pavelack, Emma DeSimone and his brother, Francis DeSimone.
A graveside service with full military honors will be Monday, (November 7, 2011) at 1:15 pm in Hillstown Road Veterans Cemetery, Manchester. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the of CT, 45 Ash St. East Hartford, CT 06108-3272 or to the Best Friends (Animal Rescue), 5001 Angel Canyon Rd., Kanab, Utah 84741 .
