AGUERO, Rafael A.
Rafael A. Aguero, 63, of Hartford, passed away Tuesday, (January 24, 2012). Born May 2, 1948 in Ciego de Avila, Cuba, son of the late Orlando E. and Maria J. (Perez) Aguero, he has resided in Hartford for 32 years. Rafael was an Elementary School teacher in Cuba prior to coming to the United States. He was associated with the Hartford National Bank, Aetna Life Insurance and the Salvation Army, all in Hartford. Rafael was a free spirit who enjoyed music and his mojitos at Azucar Restaurant in Hartford. He is survived by his son, Milton Aguero of Havana, Cuba; two sisters, Cecilia G. Alfonso and her husband; Ignacio of Middletown and Adela Martinez of Cuba; his brother, Pedro O. Aguero and his wife; Amelia A. Aguero of Burlington; his nieces, Alina Munchgesang and her husband, Charles, Gigi Vasconcelos and her husband, Jose, and Amy Malsheske and her husband, David; his nephews, Jorge I. Alfonso and his wife, Michelle, Alejandro A. Alfonso and his wife, Amanda, and Andres O. Alfonso and his wife, Elita, and his caregiver and dear friend, Francisco Reyes of Hartford. He was predeceased by his brother, Juan M. Aguero and his cousin, Modesto D. Rey.
Friends may call at The Ahern Funeral Home, 180 Farmington Ave., Hartford on Friday (Jan. 27) from 4-8 pm. Funeral procession from The Ahern Funeral Home will be Saturday (Jan. 28) at 9:15 am followed by the Funeral Liturgy in the Cathedral of St. Joseph, Hartford at 10 am. Burial will be in Mt.
