HASTINGS, Richard C., III Richard C. Hastings, III, 45, of Newington, died, (October 29, 2005) in a tragic home fire. He leaves his two sons, Benjamin C. Hastings and William A. Hastings of Kensington; his father Richard C. Hastings, Jr. of West Hartford; two sisters, Pam Hastings of West Hartford and Linda Rosania and her husband Richard of West Windsor, NJ; and two nephews, Cpl. Matthew Rosania USMC of Edwards AF Base, CA and Scott Rosania of West Windsor, NJ. He was predeceased by his mother Lorain J. Hastings. Born November 10, 1959, Rich graduated from Kingswood-Oxford School and the College of Wooster, OH. He was a beloved teacher in the Newington School System for many years and started the Newington Wrestling program. Affectionately known as "Coach" he was an inspiration to many young men. As a Phys. Ed. teacher he touched the lives of many children in a very positive way. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, November 2, 11 a.m. at the First Church of Christ Congregational, 12 South Main Street, West Hartford. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Newington H.S.
