OLSAVER, John S., III
John S. Olsaver, III, 48, of Vernon, passed away on Sunday (April 1, 2012) at Rockville General Hospital with his family at his side. Born in Manchester, the son of John "Jack" and Joyce (Hale) Olsaver of Vernon, he grew up in Vernon and lived in Manchester and Ellington before returning to Vernon several years ago. He was a graduate of Rockville High School, Class of 1981. John was a mason tender with Labor International Union, Local# 230 since 1986. He was an avid outdoorsman and was passionate about hunting, fishing and riding his Harley Davidson. He enjoyed dirt bike racing and going to his camp in Vermont. In addition to his parents, John is survived by his sisters, Brenda O'Reilly and her companion Shawn Graf of Salem, and Donna Olsaver and her companion Adam Kubilius of Colchester; his nephew, Matthew O'Reilly; his great niece, Lorraine O'Reilly; his maternal grandmother, Patricia Cole of Gulf Port, FL; his uncle, Edward Hale of Bristol; two aunts, Patricia Flynn and her husband Joseph of Southington and Katherine Calkins of Springfield, MA; several cousins and his beloved cat, Cheetah. He was predeceased by his paternal grandmother, Harriett Olsaver.
His family will receive friends for calling hours on Thursday, April 5, 2012 from 5-8 p.m. at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road (Route 83), Vernon. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, April 6, 2012 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Valley Falls Cemetery in Vernon.
