BARNES, Marvin L.
Marvin L. Barnes, 80, of East Windsor, loving husband to Marie (Bascom) Barnes, died peacefully at home with his family Saturday, (April 21, 2012). Marvin was born on September 11, 1931 in Washburn, ME the son of the late Ervin and Ruth (Higgins) Barnes. Marvin had worked for many years for Hartman Tobacco C.o. of Windsor, and then was employed by the Bloomfield Public Schools retiring in 1998. Marvin is also survived by his children, Ervin Barnes of East Windsor, Chester Barnes and his wife Denise of Enfield, Melinda Farley and husband Wesley of South Windsor, Alan Barnes and wife Kim of Broad Brook and Joel Barnes of East Windsor; a daughter-in-law, Marilyn Barnes of Enfield; a sister, Dawn Peters and a brother Stephen Barnes both of Bangor, ME; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Marvin was predeceased by a son, Larry L. Barnes and a brother, Reginald L. Barnes.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 24 at 7 p.m. at the Bassinger & Dowd Funeral Home, 37 Gardner St., East Windsor. A calling hour will be held from 6- 7 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to,
