Stephen Lee BATCHELOR Obituary

BATCHELOR, Stephen Lee

Stephen Lee Batchelor, 33, of Richlands, NC, died Saturday (April 14, 2012), at his residence. Stephen was born in Cook County, IL. He was the son of Kenneth Batchelor and Elizabeth Jordan. Stephen was a graduate of the Howell Cheney Technical High School in Manchester, CT. He also attended Coastal Carolina Community College in Jacksonville, NC, and pursued a liberal arts degree at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. Stephen was a freelance photo restoration specialist and an avid participant in many audio and video technology forums. He was the self appointed family historian with a passion for preserving the photographic and video legacy of his loved ones. It is hard to remember a moment when he was not snapping a picture, shooting a video, or restoring a photo from the early 1900's. His favorite subject by far was his sisters. He had a heart as big as the ocean and was loved by all that knew him. He was a hero to his sisters, a playful and protective older brother, a champion for animal rights, a tender caretaker of animals and the elderly, an energetic and humorous storyteller, the family peacemaker, profoundly wise, and always willing to help those in need. He will be so missed by everyone. He is survived by his father, Kenneth Batchelor of Manchester; his mother and stepfather, Elizabeth Batchelor Jordan and Ricky Jordan of Richlands, NC; three sisters, Amy Batchelor of Huntersville, NC, Jessica and Kathryn Batchelor both of Manchester; maternal grandmother, Arlene Batchelor of Graham, NC and paternal grandmother, Mary Dean Batchelor of Manchester.
A Funeral Service was held on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Jones Funeral Home Chapel, Richlands. Reverend Randy Jones officiated the services and burial was in the Batchelor Family Cemetery.
