BOBROW, Mary (Bornstein)

Mary (Bornstein) Bobrow, 91, of Bloomfield, widow of Jack Bobrow, died peacefully on Friday (May 18, 2012) at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center. Born in Hartford July 20, 1920, the daughter of Samuel and Ida Bornstein, Mary was pre-deceased by her loving husband of 58 years, Jack (2/18/06); she was also pre-deceased by her brothers Morris and Sy, and sisters Dora, Molly, Esther and Rose. Mary lived in Hartford until 1969, having raised her two daughters there. She and Jack moved to Bloomfield in 1969, where they resided for the next 41 years. Mary spent a wonderful year as a resident at Hoffman SummerWood in West Hartford, before moving into Bel Air Manor in Newington earlier this year. While in Bloomfield, she and Jack were active members of the Bloomfield 55-0 Club, and the Bloomfield Senior Center. All those who knew Mary knew a woman who was entirely devoted to her family, never intruding, but always an integral part of their lives. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Sheryl and Donald Montanari of Newington, CT and Ina and Anthony Diana of Mebane, NC. Also grieving at her passing are grandchildren Lyndee and Sean Gray of Wethersfield; Brian and Elise Montanari of East Hampton; Paul and Jennifer Montanari of West Hartford; Justin and Melissa Diana of Raleigh, NC; Katie and Pernell Wise of Mebane, NC, Andrew Diana and fiancé Julie Banks of Burlington, NC; and Emily Diana of Mebane, NC. Also brokenhearted are her 12 great-grandchildren who always brought a great smile to her face: Joshua and Jillian Gray; Brylee and Mia Montanari; Hazel and Lilah Montanari; Diamond, Dominic and Valentina Wise; Aiden Diana, Shaylin Diana; and Vincent Diana.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 21 at Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave Windsor, followed by burial at Hartford Mutual Cemetery in East Granby. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 20 from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family would like to express a special heartfelt thank you to the staff at Bel Air Manor in Newington, and especially to Elaine, for their loving attendance to Mary's needs during her last few months.
