ULITSCH, Edward "Red" Anthony

Edward "Red" Anthony Ulitsch, 78, of East Windsor, beloved husband for 52 years of the late Dorothy May (Field) Ulitsch, passed away peacefully on Friday, (July 6, 2012), at his home. Born in Hartford on March 26, 1934, son of the late Francis and Mary (Pempe) Ulitsch, he was raised in Windsor Locks and had lived in Windsor for 33 years before moving to East Windsor 14 years ago. Edward started working for Roncari Construction as a young man and retired after 38 years of service. Edward was a proud member of the U.S. Marine Corps and served during the Korean War. A longtime Windsor resident, Edward was a volunteer fireman with the Wilson Fire Department and he was a former member of the Windsor Rod and Gun Club. As a young man he played in the Windsor Locks football league and later he played fast pitch softball in the Windsor Softball League. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing in the Connecticut River and Long Island Sound, and listening to Red Sox baseball games on the radio. He leaves two sons, Edward Anthony Ulitsch, Jr. and his wife Lorraine of Windsor and Michael James Ulitsch and his wife Erin of West Suffield; two brothers, David Ulitsch and his wife Laura of New Hampshire and George Ulitsch of East Windsor; two sisters, Virginia Nelson of West Palm Beach, FL and Mary Price and her husband Robert of Windsor Locks; two grandchildren, MaKenzie Ulitsch and Michael Ulitsch of West Suffield; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his wife who predeceased him three months ago, he was predeceased by two brothers, Frank and Herman Ulitsch.
