MIGNOSA, Myrtle (Coleman)
Myrtle (Coleman) Mignosa, 85, of New Britain was peacefully taken from this life into heaven on Friday (August 17, 2012) with her loving family by her side. She was the daughter of Charles and Marion Coleman. Myrtle was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Friend; she had an amazing way of making you feel special from her Sunday Dinners to her Monday Night card party with the girls for the last 25 years. She was a lover of animals and adopted many though out her life time Tim the cat and Bella the dog were her last. She is survived by her four daughters Laura Mignosa and her partner Vy Treciokas of New Britain, Karen and Arnold Moro of New Britain Faith Eltman of New Britain and Valerie and Mark Moore of North Carolina. She leaves five beloved grandchildren who were the world to her: Christine and Danniel Ripa; Eric and Jeffrey Eltman; Mary Sedcieski, and four precious great grandchildrn, Adrianna Eltman, Eric Eltman, Jr., Gabriel Eltman, Gianna Fiordellisi. She also leaves her extended family Richard & Cecelia Eltman of Berlin, Anthony and Beverly of Bristol, and Ann and Steve of Terryville. She was an Honorary Grandmother to many. Mert, as she was affectionately known by so many people, also leaves behind a loving family from Las Vegas.Jerry and Nori Divicino and their family, Angela Cantrell, and Donna and William Hooker from New York City. In addition she had many, many "Adopted" family members and her Sunday dinners were a place where all were welcomed and there was ALWAYS room for one more. She will be missed by the many people whose life she touched in even the smallest of ways. She had a big heart, a kind word for all and enjoyed celebrating life at every turn.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 9 a.m. at the New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain followed by the funeral liturgy at 10 a..m. at St. John the Evangelist Church. Burial will follow at St.Mary's Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Monday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Directions, Exit 37 off I-84 take a right at the exit, ½ miles on your right.
