LYONS, Margaret "Peg" (Hennessey)

Mrs. Margaret "Peg" (Hennessey) Lyons, of Thomaston, and Venice, FL, died peacefully on Tuesday morning, (January 1), at her home in Thomaston. She was the wife of John J. Lyons. Mrs. Lyons was born Oct. 12, 1919 in Proctor, VT daughter of the late Thomas and Anna (Casey) Hennessey. She was a graduate of Pittsford High School and the College of St. Rose in Albany, NY. She taught high school in Pittsford, VT and Thomaston. She was a communicant of St. Thomas Church in Thomaston and the Epiphany Cathedral in Venice, FL. She was an avid golfer and was a former member of the Chippanee Golf Club in Bristol, the Mission Valley Country Club in Laurel, FL and the Connecticut Women's Golf Association. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Paul Lyons of Surprise, AZ, Jay Lyons of Farmington, Mary Ellen Lyons of Brookfield, Martha Lyons-Holden of Ft. Myers, FL, Peter Lyons of Scottsdale, AZ and Molly Fisher of Dudley, MA; eight grandchildren, Sharon Nasr, Clark and Karissa Holden, Lacey Lyons-Burgin, Justin and Gavin Lyons and Patrick and Katie Fisher; and two great-grandchildren, Alison Nasr and Brennan Fisher. The family would like to offer special thanks to Rakhat and Gulzat for the care they provided to their mother.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of the Lyons Funeral Home of Thomaston.
