CHAISSON, Virginia Lee
Virginia Lee Chaisson, 82, beloved wife of the late Roland J. Chaisson, passed away peacefully on Thursday (March 7, 2013) at Fox Hill Nursing Home. Born in Joplin, MO to the late Amos and Anna Louise (Stewart) McAfee, she was raised in Joplin and met the love of her life Roland while visiting her sister in Maine. They were married in 1950 and settled together in Maine to raise their family before moving to Willimantic in 1953. Virginia enjoyed bowling and crochet but her true passion was her family who will miss her dearly. She is survived by her sons, Gregory Chaisson and his wife Christine of East Haven, and Patrick Edward Chaisson of Farmington, MO; her daughter Kathryn Boiano and her husband Paul of Vernon; her sisters Betty McAfee and Carol Sue Phillips; her grandchildren Janet Lemere and her husband Roger, Michael and David Boiano, and Gregory Chaisson, III; her great-grandchildren Cody Lemere, who is proudly serving our country with the US Army and his wife Kelly, and Cori-Kathryn Lemere. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son Gordon Chaisson, her brother Donald McAfee, her sisters Dorothy Whitehead, Mary Lou Gilstrap, Katherine Phillips, and Dolores Phillips. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Fox Hill Nursing Home for their compassionate, loving care of Virginia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 16 at St. Bartholomew Church, 45 Ludlow Rd., Manchester followed by burial in St. Bridget Cemetery, Manchester. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 15 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd. South Windsor.
