SAICH, Richard B.

Richard B. Saich, 84, of Vernon, died at home on Friday, (September 27, 2013). Born in Hartford, on June 22, 1929 to Richard and Helen (Schmidt) Saich, Dick graduated from Bulkeley High School in 1948. He served in the Air Force Air Rescue Squadron 1948-54. Dick was a UConn Graduate and worked at Pratt & Whitney, as an Engineer, for 34 years. He was an active with the First Congregational Church of Vernon, serving as Trustee Emeritus, and also spent many enjoyable days volunteering at the New England Air Museum. Dick was predeceased by his first wife, Phyllis (Hultgren) Saich, in 1991. He leaves his wife Jane (Kuhnly) Saich, daughters Pamela Pepin (Jim) and Lisa Dumais (Mark). Grandchildren Corey Dumais, Elizabeth (Pepin) Meade (and husband Christopher), Erica Pepin (and her intended Humberto Hernandez) and Nicole Pepin. He also leaves stepchildren Marcia (Randy) Andrews and their daughters Rachel and Valerie, Scott (Jennifer) Kuhnly and their children Morgan, Annelise, Greta, Ava and Cullen, and Brian (Leigh) Kuhnly and their daughter Lauren. The family wishes to thank Visiting Nurse and Health Services of CT, Inc. for their support.
