Anne Strohecker Obituary

Anne Strohecker - "the saint of little things" - was known as Sister Theresa, when in the convent of The Sisters of Saint Joseph, for twenty-plus years. She was born May 30, 1932 and died December 16, 2013. She was a nurse practitioner for 50 years and loved her patients and her work. She was the best friend of Mary Fiorello with whom she lived in her later life. She has three surviving sisters; Lona, Ellen and Eileen and brothers-in-law; Bill and Dennis that she loved very much, as well as many nieces and nephews that were special to her. She has a dearly adopted brother - Tony - (brother of Mary!) whom she spent many a loving time with; going to sports events, watching them, going to concerts and traveling with and cooking for. She loved him with all her heart. She has many loving friends in the Buckingham Community that she lived in; especially Sandy & Jim, Connie & Terry and Janet & Lynn, Donna, Ed and many others. She was cremated and she requested that personal quiet time in her honor be kept by those who loved her. Donations may be made to the St. Francis Hospital ICU that cared so sensitively and respectfully for her, c/o the Saint Francis Foundation, 95 Woodland St., Hartford, CT 06105 or to the Sisters of St. Joseph, 27 Park Road, West Hartford, CT 06119. The Cremation Society of New England has been entrusted with arrangement. Please visit www.NewEnglandCremation to leave a message of remembrance.
