William Noble Obituary



William F. Noble, 73, of Farmington and Avon, loving husband of the late Linda Lawton-Noble, passed away Saturday (January 4, 2014). Born in Watertown on January 10, 1940, he was the son of the late F. Dutton and Elizabeth (Fielding) Noble. Bill graduated from Taft School in 1958. He went on to receive his B.S. in Industrial Administration from Yale University in 1962 and his MBA in Finance from NYU. From 1970-1984, Bill was employed by Ensign Bickford Industries, Simsbury as Controller. He was then employed as Controller of Cadkey, Inc. from 1984-1990. Active in his community, Bill was President of Avon United Fund from 1988-1990, a board member of Greater Hartford United Way from 1989-1991, and long time member of Avon-Canton Rotary Club. In his early years, he was an enthusiastic outdoorsman who loved kayaking and skiing. In his later years, he enjoyed traveling with Linda. Bill leaves a cousin, Miriam Niederman of Bethany and her children. There are no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 15, 1 p.m. at West Avon Congregational Church, 280 Country Club Rd., Avon. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Watertown will be at the convenience of his family. Donations, in Bill's memory, may be made to Avon-Canton Rotary Club, c/o Gary Hyde, Treasurer, PO Box 11, Avon, CT 06001-0011.
