Joseph Rushkowski Obituary

Joseph Rushkowski Jr., 68, husband of Susan Rushkowski, passed away peacefully Friday, March 7, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital, with his loving family at his side. Joseph was born in Bristol, one of three children of the late Joseph and Mary Rushkowski Sr. Joseph was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a Certified Public Accountant with his own firm in Plainville. He was a member of the Bristol Lodge of Elk's #1010 and the American Legion, Bristol Post 2. He loved playing cards and did so with friends at Pequabuck golf club. Joseph enjoyed watching college basketball and was a big fan of UCONN. Most importantly, he loved to spend time with his pride and joy, his grandson, James. In addition to his wife, Joseph is survived by son and daughter-in-law: Jim and Deirdre Rushkowski; one sister and brother-in-law: Marie and Dominic Pasquale; grandson: James Rushkowski Jr.; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Joseph was pre-deceased by his brother Leonard Rushkowski. Relatives and friends may call at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, CT 06010 between 5 and 8 PM on Tuesday, March 11, 2014. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at 9AM at Funk Funeral Home, with a procession to St. Gregory Church, 235 Maltby St., where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with burial to follow immediately at St. Joseph Cemetery, 522 Terryville Ave., Bristol, CT.
