Kathleen F. Talbot Obituary


Kathleen (Fennell) Talbot of Avon, special wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on Sunday, April 13th. Kathleen was born in Philadelphia, PA but spent her adult life in CT. She attended Mount St. Joseph Academy and St. Joseph College (now the University of St. Joseph) in West Hartford, CT. She went on to teach in the Wethersfield school system and, after raising her children, became a tutor at Greater Hartford Community College. Kathleen will be remembered for her devotion to her faith, her husband and their family. A deeply religious woman, she filled her days with prayer and a commitment to helping others. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Dr. Wilfred Talbot Jr. (Avon, CT). His dedication to her when her health declined was inspiring to everyone who observed it. She is also survived by her sister, Ann McGovern (Wethersfield, CT ); her daughter Ann Beloin, and Ann's husband Brian (Avon, CT); her son, Bill Talbot, and Bill's wife Mary (Winnetka, IL), her daughter Mary K. Talbot (Barrington, RI) and her daughter Sarah Dillon and Sarah's husband Steve(Farmington, CT). Kathleen will be remembered for her love and dedication to her grandchildren whom she cherished and who will be her legacy. She leaves Brian and Mark Beloin; Michelle Beloin & her boyfriend Tom Richards; Trevor and Hope Talbot; Connor and Liam O'Neal; and Matthew, Hunter and Hayden Dillon. Kathleen was predeceased by her parents, William and Gertrude Fennell; two of her sisters, Mary Condon and Patricia Martucci; her grandson, Lucas O'Neal; and her best friend, Cathie Jerto. The family would like to thank Avon Health Center, Farmington Valley VNA Hospice and Arden Court of Avon for their care during the last three years. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday, April 26th, 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Church, Main Street, Unionville, CT 06085. Everyone is invited to meet at the Church. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please give an extra hug to a special child in your life. Contributions in Kathleen's memory may be made to University of Saint Joseph Endowed Scholarship, University of St. Joseph, Office of Intuitional Advancement, 1678 Asylum Avenue, West Hartford, CT 06117 or Farmington Valley VNA Hospice, 8 Old Mill Lane, Simsbury, CT 06070.
