Matthew Samborski Obituary

Matthew E. Samborski, 67, of Ellington, loving husband of 42 years to Cheryl (Byron) Samborski, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, May 24. After graduating he worked for Pratt & Whitney in East Hartford, and later moved on to Windsor Airmotive, a division of Barnes Aerospace in Windsor. An avid UConn sports fanatic, Matt was a patron and season ticket holder since 1969. In addition to his wife Cheryl, Matt is survived by his son Dana Samborski and his wife Jennifer of Stafford, his daughter Kirsten Cohoon, husband Steven, and two grandchildren Jacob and Justin of Griswold. He also leaves behind his brother Bruce Samborski, his wife Donna, and their two children Emily and Andrew of Manchester. From Matt's brother: Here's a little story that may suggest Matt is still communicating with us. A week before Matt's 2nd anniversary of passage (May 2016), I went to my local credit union, no special time of day chosen....did'nt really have to go that day but was in the area. Also decided though to go inside instead of the auto teller. Got out of the car and as I was walking in, saw an old worn out Monticello nickel on the pavement right in my path. Not many of those old coins passing hands nowadays. Turning it over, it was dated 1946, Matt's birth year.

If you knew Matt, you be the judge of that was just a coincidence or if he was winking at us. God Bless him. Love you Matt, Bruce.

Cheri,
Rich and I are so sorry for your loss. If there is anything you need, we are just a backyard and 2 barking dogs away. Seriously, we want you to ask us for anything. I will be home the next 3 months after my surgery so if you want any company just give me a call.
