Margherita Cunningham,age 84, died peacefully June 2, 2014 at her home in Albuquerque New Mexico. She was born in New York City January 21, 1930, daughter of the late David and Anna Rubino.She was a longtime resident and active community member in West Hartford. Marge graduated from the University of Massachusetts and was the founder of Cunningham Court Reporting Agency in Hartford. She was active in P.E.O. International and the Society for the Increase of the Ministry (SIM) through the Episcopal Church. Marge established a scholarship fund in honor of her son Edward. Marge was a loving and supportive mother, grandmother and aunt. She is survived by her children Russell Cunningham, his wife Lisa, Karen Cunningham, her husband Bill Beck, granddaughter Jessica Cunningham, brother David Rubino and wife Mary Lou, sister Berta Stroshine and husband Dean and many other family and friends. She was predeceased by her son Edward and her dear friend Ted Exford. A memorial celebration of her life will be held Saturday June 14, 2014 at 4:00pm at St. James Episcopal Church, 1018 Farmington Ave.West Hartford. I just recently learned of Marge's passing and cried. Hired by her in the late nineties to manage the Voice Transcription department of The Cunningham Group, I considered her a mentor and friend. Our paths only crossed a few times in subsequent years, but each contact was personally rewarding. I will always remember her fondly for her integrity, professionalism, and the business legacy she left behind in Hartford.

To others who loved her as well, my belated and deepest sympathies. With her passing, we lost a true gem, as she was an amazing woman whom I shall miss. It saddens me to know that I will never hear her distinctive voice again, although when thinking of her, I can still hear it!

I met Marge at a convention in Scottsdale, AZ, a few years ago. We just hit it off and I ended up coming to Connecticut to take a job for her. I didn't know her well, but I really liked her for the brief time we were in communication. Just something really cool about her that's stuck with me all this time.

What will I remember about Marge? Her smile that would light up her eyes, her infectious laugh, and her always upbeat attitude about life. I had the privilege of meeting her in 1976 when I began working in her home office in West Hartford where got to meet her three great kids. I used to stop at McDonald's and bring Eddie egg McMuffins in the morning, and he'd play with his trucks under my desk. I remember fondly our weekly lunches at the Edelweiss, one of her favorite places to eat. My sincere condolences to Russell and Karen. She will be missed.

Marge was a dear friend, and I had the pleasure to know and work with her for over 30 years in the court reporting industry. We cried together, we laughed together when she lost her dear son. I will always treasure her visits to me in Savannah and mine to Hartford. What a lovely lady.
