So sorry to hear of Don's passing. Don was a colleague of mine for the past 30 years through ACUHO/NEACUHO. Though ten years my senior, Don was one of the first to welcome me into the NEACUHO family back in the mid-80's. I looked forward to seeing him each year at conference time and admired his professional demeanor and relationships. One of the best guys in the business, he will not be forgotten by all those he impacted. May your family find peace at this most difficult time.

It was so easy to be a friend of Don's in the good times, but to share in his bad times showed what a class act he was. His strength, humor, and positive attitude defined the real man and he was an inspiration to his friends.
We send our love to the entire family and feel blessed to have shared so much with him. Elaine, you know you have our support during this difficult time. He left a huge legacy, a loving family and friends and that is a mark of a Mensch. We celebrate his life.

Dear Elaine and your family.
I am so sorry to hear about Don's passing. I first met Don in 1978 when I worked for him as both a Resident Assistant and later a Resident Director at Quinnipiac College. He was a terrific influence on me and helped guide me all during college and afterward as well. As a Disc Jockey, Don always made sure I played the Beach Boys whenever I performed, and he and Elaine were always one of the first adults to dance at my jobs. He spoke fondly about all of his children and always asked me for updates on any of the other housing staff members over the years. A wonderful friend, father, and husband. I wish him all the best

I remember Don from when I was just a little kid. Then attending QU with his kids (Blumenthal's were like books; they were everywhere:). And I would continue to see him occasionally the years that followed. In that entire span of time Don ALWAYS had a big smile on his face, something funny to say and his positive disposition rubbed off on those around him making anywhere he went a little bit brighter.
My condolences to his entire family.
