He was a voracious reader and aspiring astronomer. Long after retiring, he continued to enjoy his role as family counselor. Bill was predeceased by his loving wife of 48 years, Ann Dully Luby, as well as his two sisters, Marcella L. Mansfield of West Hartford and Joan F. Luby of West Hartford, in addition to two brothers, Thomas J. Luby, Jr. D.D.S. of West Hartford and Meade J. Luby, M.D. of Port Royal, South Carolina. Bill is survived by his son William J. Luby and daughter-in-law Deborah L. Luby of Tiburon, California. He also leaves many nephews and nieces.
