Jack R. Falatic Obituary

Jack R. Falatic, 93, of Vernon, loving husband of 43 years to Isabelle (Botticello) Falatic, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 21, 2014 with his family at his side. Born in Barnesboro, Pennsylvania, the son of the late John and Alice (Matley) Falatic, he grew up and lived in Barnesboro and East Hartford before moving to Vernon over 33 years ago. He was a graduate of Barnesboro High School, Class of 1938. He was a U. S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, and was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries he sustained in an air battle over Rotterdam, Holland on September 17, 1942. He was the manager of the former Roskin Distributors in East Hartford for many years before going to Economy Electric. He retired from the Quality Inn in Manchester. He enjoyed playing cards, going to Las Vegas, and he was a devoted UCONN women's basketball fan. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather, brother and friend who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Jacqueline Ellis and her husband Richard of Hermon, ME; three grandchildren, John and Steven Ellis and Kathleen Rioux; two great granddaughters, Samantha Sproul and Jessica Fraser; three great great grandchildren, Jack and Hannah Fraser and Lilian Sproul; a sister, Grace Wargo and her husband Peter of Valencia, PA, and several in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Falatic and a sister, Lila Jean Tirpak. His family will receive friends for calling hours on Friday, July 25, 2014 from 9 - 11 a.m. at the Ladd Funeral Home, 19 Ellington Avenue, Rockville.
