Stanford Brainerd Obituary
83, died in his sleep November 21, 2014 at home in Old Lyme. Loving husband of Wendy Smith Brainerd, admiring brother of Nancy Foltz, devoted father of Elizabeth (Robert), Brooks (Erin) and Charles (Amanda), adoring grandfather of Cecily and James Burge, Lowell and Mallory Brainerd, Malcolm, Annabelle and Fiona Brainerd; loving stepfather to Hilary Hart and Ward Hart and stepgrandfather to Antony, Alexander and Pamela Hart. Stanford was born September 18 1931 to Howard and Elizabeth Brainerd of Easton PA, graduated from Lawrenceville, Yale and Harvard Business School, served in the U.S. Army and worked as an investment banker starting at Morgan Guaranty Trust Co and retiring from Yamaichi International. Stanford was active, witty and loving to the end. In lieu of flowers gifts may be made to the Middlesex Land Trust. Funeral service will be held 11:00 on Friday, December 12 at St. Ann's Episcopal Church in Old Lyme, CT.
