Arthur Krenz Obituary

Arthur Ludwig Krenz, CPCU, CIC, 82, of Wallingford, beloved husband of Carolyn (Bassett) Krenz for sixty years, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 30th with his family by his side at Hartford Hospital. Born in Middletown, he was the son of the late Arthur and Anna (Geffken) Krenz. Art lived in Middlefield most of his life before moving to Wallingford. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and a graduate of the University of Connecticut. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, earning the rank of First Lieutenant. He was president and owner of Rice, Davis, Daley & Krenz, where he was committed to helping his clients navigate the complexities of their insurance. In 1994, he was bestowed the honor of Insurance Agent of the Year by the Independent Insurance Agents of Connecticut. Art also worked as the Tax Assessor for the Town of Middlefield, a Corporator of Middlesex Hospital, and was a past President of the Middletown Kiwanis Club. Art was an avid fan of UCONN Women's Basketball and the Boston Red Sox. He also enjoyed playing scrabble, collecting antique postcards, painting, traveling to see lighthouses, and spending time with his wife and family at their cottage in Maine. Along with his wife, Art is survived by his son, Douglas Krenz and his wife, Mary Ann, of Durham; three daughters, Judith George and her husband, Roger, of Halfmoon NY, Pamela Sibley and her husband, Peter, of Middlefield, and AFS daughter, Masae Takahashi of Japan; and his brother, Rev. William Krenz and his wife, Rosemary, of Halifax, PA. He also leaves eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. The Krenz family would like to extend warm appreciation to the LVAD and ICD teams at Hartford Hospital. A memorial service to celebrate Art's life will be held on Sunday, July 26th 12:00 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 300 Washington Street, Middletown, CT 06457. A private burial was held at Middlefield Cemetery where full military honors were accorded. In lieu of flowers, donations in Art's memory may be made to Faith Lutheran Church Memorial Fund. Dear Carolyn,
We are sorry for loss. I (especially) have happy memories of our days
growing up together at St. Paul's. Those were good old days. Art was the
kind and happy member of OUR generation at St. Paul's. We were quite a
mix! Good memories.
He was a good person, as were his parents. Blessings as you carry on without Art.

Family of Art Krenz,
So sorry to hear of the passing of such a kind and wonderful friend. I have so many fond memories of Art at our Kiwanis meetings and his great support of the Iron Deficiency Program and Kiwanis. May the good lord be with the family at such a time as this.
