Rocco Cesare Conaci

Rocco Cesare Conaci of South Windsor passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2016, at the age of 76, at New York Presbyterian Hospital. Born in Girifalco, Catanzaro in Calabria, Italy, he was the son of the late Francesco and Teresa Olivadese Conaci of Girifalco, Catanzaro. Rocco emigrated from Italy in 1962, worked at Philbrick-Booth and Spencer foundry as a welder and was a master gardener. He had a deep love for his family especially his wife Paola of 48 years, children Anthony and Caterina and was so proud of his grandchildren. Rocco is survived by his beloved wife, Paola Ferraina Conaci of South Windsor; loving son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Sharon Conaci of South Windsor; loving daughter and son-in law, Caterina and Michael Pond of Darien; and four beautiful grandchildren Erika and Anthony Conaci, and Michaela and Jack Pond. He is also survived by three sisters and two brothers; Maria Destefani of South Windsor; Barbara Quaresima of Rocky Hill; Caterina Giampa and her husband Domenico of Girifalco; Domenico Conaci and his wife Rosa of South Windsor; Salvatore Conaci of Girifalco. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Angela Conaci of Rocky Hill and brothers-in-law; Domenico and Pietro Ferraina of Italy. He also leaves behind many adored nieces and nephews and their families. He was predeceased by his brothers Frank Conaci and Antonio Conaci; his brothers-in-law Giuseppe Destefani, Giuseppe Quaresima, Vito Ferraina; sister Illuminata Conaci; and his sisters-in-law Alyce Conaci, Angela Conaci, and Maria Caterina Ferraina. The family will receive friends and family on Friday (TODAY) January 8, 2016 from 4-7 p.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. Funeral procession will leave Saturday at 10 a.m. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, Wethersfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrating his life at 11 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 673 Ellington Road, South Windsor. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill.
