NALDI, Giulio "Julius" Giulio "Julius" Naldi, 88, passed away at his home on Thursday, (June 8, 2006). Mr. Naldi was born in Plainfield, NJ and was the son of wonderful parents the late Ruggero and Marianna (Gianerinni) Naldi. He was the husband of his beautiful wife of 68 years, Enes (Ferrero) Naldi. Julius was employed as a set up man at G.E. Prentice Mfg. for 11 years, at Paper Goods as a paper cutter, and retired in 1980 from Goss DeLeeuw Machine Co. where he had been employed as a machinist for 29 years. As a charter member of the Kensington Volunteer fire department for 68 years he served in the following capacities, Chief, Assistant Chief, Captain, Lieutenant and Fire Marshall. He volunteered at New Britain General Hospital as a nurses assistant for 25 years, for seven years worked with children on the pediatric ward, for 17 years worked on the oncology cancer ward, and in 1995 was named Volunteer of the Year. He was a member of the Forever Young Club at Sacred Heart Church in East Berlin, a member of the Berlin Seniors, Saint Paul Church Kensington, and was an ardent golfer, bowler, and billiard player and enjoyed playing the organ. Mr. Naldi is survived by his wife; two sons and daughters- in-law, Roger Sr. and Judie Naldi of Kensington, Richard and JoAnn Naldi of Swansboro, NC; a sister, Matilda Fiato of New Bern, NC; five grandchildren and their spouses, Steven Naldi of Florida, Marci Bienkowski and her husband, Tom of Hebron, Roger Naldi Jr. of Kensington, Jeffrey Naldi and his wife, Rebecca of Wethersfield, Kimberly Roberts and her husband, Jonas of Newington; seven great grandchildren, Ryan and Alexa Bienkowski, Jacob and Corinne Naldi, Jillian, Elias and Ethan Roberts; two sisters-in-law, June Ferrero, Laura Ferrero; many nieces and nephews, especially Lonnie Jarmolinski, Gail Ferrero, Francine McKiernan, John Ferrero; special friends, Donald Simmons, John and Virginia Nappi, Lou and Mary Auregemma and Joseph and Muriel Wilk. Julius was predeceased by a sister, Daisy Cardella; and a brother, Rico Naldi. Friends and family are invited to call Sunday, June 11, from 3 - 6 p.m. at the Berlin Memorial Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Kensington. Funeral services will be held 9:15 a.m. Monday, June 12, at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Saint Paul Church, Alling Street, Kensington. Burial will follow in West Lane Cemetery. Donations in memory of Julius may be made to the George Bray Cancer Center,100 Grand Street, New Britain, CT. 06050.
