Obituary Condolences

HUFFIELD, Richard H. Sr. Richard H. Huffield, Sr. of Yorktown Heights, NY died Saturday (September 9, 2006) after a long illness. He was born April 4, 1936 in West Hartford, to Homer T. Huffield and Ruth Hill Huffield. He graduated from Hall HS, the University of Connecticut and Babson. Dick is survived by his wife, Patricia Whalen Huffield; five children, Heidi (John), Rick (Cathy), Tim (Bonnie), Robin (Bill), and Meaghan (Rob), and 11 grandchildren, Nick, Sabrina, Jason, Casey, Lindsey, Lisa, Jessica, Jenna, Kristen, Ryan and Nicholas. He is also survived by his sister, Alyce (Ralph) Westerberg; his mother-in-law, Rosemary Whalen his sister-in-law, MaryBeth Whalen; three nephews and two cousins. He retired from IBM after a career as an industrial engineer and educator and went on to be an adjunct professor at Mercy College. Dick's happiest times were spent with his family. He was an avid Mets fan and enjoyed woodworking and model trains. He served on the Yorktown Parks and Recreation Commission for the past 12 years. In lieu of flowers, Dick had asked that contributions be made to the Harrison Apar Field of Dreams Foundation, PO Box 1383, Yorktown Heights, NY 10598. Clark Funeral Home, Inc., 2104 Saw Mill River Road, Yorktown Heights, NY 10598 is in charge of arrangements.
