DUFRAINE, SFC Lawrence Alfred Sgt. First Class Lawrence Alfred Dufraine, U.S. Army, Retired, 36, of Fayetteville, NC, passed away Sunday night, (August 1, 2004) at his home. He was a native of North Adams, MA and made his home in the Enfield area prior to joining the U.S. Army. Prior to his retirement, he had been a member of the 3rd Batallion, 7th Special Forces Group stationed at Fort Bragg, NC for 16 years. He is survived by his wife, Tammy Cherie Dufraine of the home; parents, Lawrence and Cynthia Dufraine of Ellington; a sister, Kathleen Dufraine of Charlotte, NC; two brothers, Thomas Dufraine of Philadelphia, PA and Jeff Okun of Somers; and his paternal grandmother, Annina Rose Dufraine of Ellington. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday August 5, at the John F. Kennedy Chapel, Fort Bragg, NC. Burial with full Military Honors administered by the 3rd Batallion, 7th Special Forces Group will follow at LaFayette Memorial Park West in Fayetteville. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his memory be made to the NC State Veterans Nursing Home Christmas Fund, 214 Cochran Ave., Fayetteville, NC 28301 or to Community Hospice of Fayetteville, 5301 Morganton Road, Fayetteville, NC 28314. Services for SFC Lawrence Dufraine have been entrusted to the care of Rogers and Breece Funeral Home, 500 Ramsey Street, Fayetteville, NC 28301.
